How We Got Our Name

SeaSoaked Skin. It’s really that simple.

The Short Version

Some time ago, 2007 to be exact, we were led to the large island of Ireland for many reasons of course. One of them was to finally step in the land and birthplace of U2. For those of you that are not familiar with this Irish band, I suggest you start Googling. In our opinion, U2 is an ever-evolving creation made up of four men whose music has touched so many people in every single country on this planet in one form or another. They are our favorite band-ever. Now to several more reasons: Surfing the Atlantic, Guinness beer, the Temple Bar and the Irish landscape which is greener than green. Must do/see all!

After driving from Dublin to StrandhilI, in the County of Sligo, I wasn’t aware on what we were about to embark on as we asked our bed and breakfast hosts, what other activities or sights could they recommend? All I heard at that point was, “seaweed bath”. I was instantly intrigued, especially since being raised out on the cold waters of Alaska, Summer after Summer, I wanted to know more and how quickly I can jump into a hot bath tub with seaweed swirling around my toes and the rest of my body. My now husband, then beau, was not so eager. With my slight persuasion, he no longer could resist my request and off we went.

The Finale

Let’s just say the experience was transcendent and life changing, because for me it truly was. SeaSoaked Skin was born out of the experience I had on our trip to that small, unassuming town spa in Strandhill. My skin felt like a newborn’s, the deep and therapeutic rest I felt was hands-down, amazing. That evening, I never slept better.

Flash forward to Fall of 2020 as we were sailing in Washington’s San Juan Islands, I had my personal “light bulb” moment. I needed to relive and recreate my time in that small spa and spread the news of the many wonderful benefits that a seaweed bath has on the human mind and body. And that is how we got our name.

Our ode to Ireland: Healing Deep Sea Soak. This is the first ever product made. We hope that you try it out and that it will have an everlasting impression just like it did on us.

Get to soaking!
